The Young Adult Teams of Our Lady (YATOL) Western Region retreat is a weekend experience of Christian community at Camp Saint Francis in Aptos, overlooking the ocean and beach. YATOL is an international Catholic Young Adult movement started in 1976. The retreat has been designed to help you come to a better understanding of Christ, the Catholic faith, yourself and the Christian community.

WHO: All young adults (Post-high school to 30 years of age)
WHEN: Mar 5-7, 2010 (Friday 7:00 PM to Sunday 1:00 PM)
WHERE: Camp St. Francis, 2320 Sumner Ave., Aptos, CA 95003
COST: $80.00
All that will be needed for the weekend is a sleeping bag, pillow, warm casual clothing, towels, and toiletries, etc. PLEASE BRING ROSARY & BIBLE. The retreat begins at 7:00 pm on Friday, Mar. 5, 2010. Please carpool as much as possible. If you need a ride, please contact us to set up a carpool with someone else. The retreat will end at 1 pm on Sunday.

Just for your information every Monday a group of people pray the rosary at the abortion clinic near St.Luke’s on El Dorado and Alpine.  We get together around 10 am and pray for about an hour. This is the time frame that the abortion doctor is there and the killing of babies takes place.   Fr. Matt and Fr. Al are normally there along with other people praying for those considering abortion and the babies who lose their lives. 

Last Monday there were two lives saved as parents reconsidered their decision.  One women shared how she had came to get  an abortion a year ago, but changed her mind after talking to someone.  Now, she has handsome one year old boy.   A couple with two kids in their car changed their mind after talking to someone. Can you imagine, what the couple was feeling and thinking as they drove into the parking lot of the abortion clinic with two young children in their car and thinking of aborting their baby?  

Sometimes, it is the presence of young people  praying for others that makes a difference in a person’s decision.  If you are free to spend some time with God come and join us on Mondays.   Hope to see you there.

I miss all of you and hope things are going as well for you as they are for me.  In our absence, John and I have still been working to maintain the website.  Over the last couple of weeks, we have had some spam problems on the forums.  First of all, I want to apologize for anyone that may have been offended by the content that was posted before I caught it.  I banned the offending users and made it so you now need admin approval to sign up.  The problem is, we are getting 20 to 30 add requests per day by spam bots. 

I just got off the phone with John.  We had a long talk about this among other things.  We are thinking that since there has been no legitimate activity on the forums since early November, that we might take them offline for now.  If the group wants to keep them and will use them, that is fine but you need to let us know.  Also, if anyone wants a new account, they need to contact me first as I am just denying all add requests right now without looking at them.  We will not take any action until the end of the week, but if no one has requested that we keep them by next weekend, we will take them offline.

To Add a Gallery

1. Log In

2. Click “Gallery” from the tool bar

3. Click “Add Gallery”

4. Type in an applicable name under “New Gallery” text box
4a. Click “Add Gallery”

5. Click “Upload Photos
5a. Select your images by click “browse”
5b. Select the gallery you wish to place them in (probably will be the one your just created)
5c. Click “Upload Images”

6. Click “Manage Gallery”

7. Select “Edit” next to the gallery you wish to post

8. Type in Captions for each picture (Make sure to put the same caption–you may cut and paste–into both the description box and the alt and title text box)
8a. Click “Save Changes”
8b. Select the radio button next to the word “ID” (this selects all the pictures)
8c. Select “Resize Images” from the drop-down menu
8d. Click “Ok”
8e. Repeat step 8b, 8c, except select “Set Watermark” instead of “Resize Images,” and 8d

9. To add the gallery (or just a picture from it) to a blog post, click “Write”
9a. Set up the post as you normally would.
9b. Add a gallery by clicking on the “Add NextGen Gallery” Icon (the one at the far right that looks like three photos on top of each other)
9c. To add a gallery, select your gallery from the drop-down menu and click “Insert”
9d. To add a single picture, click “Picture”, then select your picture file name from the drop-down menu and click “insert”

10. Click “Publish” to complete

To Add a Graphic or a Quick Single Picture

1. Log in

2. Click “Write”

3. Set up the post as you normally would

4. Click the “Add an Image” icon (the first one after “Add Media”)
4a. Click “Choose File to Upload”
4b. Select your file from your computer and click “Open”
4c. Add a caption, description, alignment, and size
4d. Click “Insert into Post”

5. Click “Publish” to complete
