Christmas Party 12/23/2008

This Tuesday, December 23, will be the YAM Christmas party.  What a way to take a break from the Holiday shopping, baking, etc. and to be with friends before being with your families.

I will provide hot drinks, with a hot water pot, and some left over eggnog from the previous Knights Christmas party (if there are any eggnog drinkers).  Also, I will bring something else as well.  Please bring a food item or dessert to share.

Also, I feel we should have fun that same night.  This is why I invite you to bring your favorite board       game(s) for all to play.

Merry CHRISTmas to all and as we say in the Knights of Columbus, “Keep Christ in Christmas.”

Rejoice and clothe the naked!

Happy Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday!

This Tuesday, Dec 16th, at our regular meeting we discussed what it means to rejoice and what the Bible says about it.

Also, during the meeting we sorted the hats, scarves, and gloves donated to St Luke’s Rosemarie Doyle Advent Project for the homeless. The members of the youth group then wrapped them on Sunday.

The Fall Collection Drive was a Success!

The fall collection drive is officially over.  Thanks to everyone who so generously contributed!  We are starting our YAM fund with $120.  As discussed, this fund will be used to assist bringing in speakers and supporting the group.  Please let me know if you have any YAM related expenditures you would like to be reimbursed for.

Recent Tuesday Meetings

On October 14th, we listened to the first CD of the audio book version of Left to Tell by Imaculee Ilibagiza, which describes her experience, and the growth of her faith, during the Rwandan genocide in 1994.

On October 21, Nancy led a discussion on the topic of Doubt: our experiences with it and how we can work, with God’s help, to overcome it

On October 28, Kevin talked to us about the history of EWTN and Mother Angelica, and showed us pictures of his trip to the Shrine in Alabama. We also prayed the election novena as a group.

See: http://www.lukefive.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=40 for a copy of the novena prayer.
