Updates on old business
Bulletin Announcements
-John is working with Kenny, and they should have advertising announcements to parishes to put in bulletins this week

Suggestions from YAM members
Suggestion box
-Idea from member Christina to have suggestion box available online and/or at meetings
-John reports suggestion area is available in the “contact us” section on the website
-No objections to suggestion box at meetings
 
Chaplain/guest speaker
-Idea from member Christina to have a chaplain or spiritual advisor for YAM, either priest, deacon, brother, sister, or qualified lay person.
   -No objections to spiritual advisor, but concern regarding availablity of such a person to be chaplain, particularly a priest.
-Also suggested have guest speakers at Tuesday meetings regularly, perhaps once a month
   -Guest speakers could be arranged by individuals who sign up to lead on a particular week
 
Upcoming events
Walk to Abortion clinic
-Youth group is having candlelit walk to abortion clinic on 10/19 after 5:30 Mass
-Young adults are invited
 
Proposed events (with tentative dates)
UOP Newman Center Mass Publicity
-Speak regarding YAM and/or give out business cards at 8pm Newman Center Mass
-John to visit Newman Center this week to arrange
-Proposed date: 10/26
 
Halloween Party
-Jackie and Christina to host party on 10/31 at their house in Lodi
-Entertainment may include karaoke, games, passing quarters to children (or candy if we run out of quarters)
[-Tentative start time: 7pm. May start earlier for those who want to go to All Saints' vigil at St Anne.]
 
Advent retreat at Lake Almanor
-Weekend retreat to prepare for Advent
-Cristina’s aunt and uncle have offered their cabin for YAM events
-First and second weekends of Advent not good (1st=Thanksgiving weekend; 2nd=Crisitina gone)
-Proposed date: Weekend of Nov 22 [note: later learned of potential conflict with Knights of Columbus dinner on 11/22 and Cristina will be out of town...possibly Epiphany retreat??]
 
3rd Annual YAM Christmas caroling at nursing homes
-Proposed date: 12/21
 
 
Other proposed events
Viewing of Kenny’s video(s) at Empire theater
-Cristina is friends with management and will talk to them
-John had cousin who has showed a video there and will talk to him about the process

Visit to Oakland Cathedral
